Hello, CCFT Members: The election for the re-written CCFT Constitution and Bylaws will officially begin officially on Tuesday, March 24, 2009. Ballot packets will be sent via inter-district mail to all CCFT members to their divisions on that date. All instructions for completing your vote, where to deliver it, and the deadline for voting are in the ballot packet and below. Please follow all voting instructions carefully. You should have your ballot by Wednesday, March 25, 2009. If you work at the North County Campus, the South County Center, or a high school or other site and you have not received your ballot in your mailbox by Thursday afternoon, March 26, please contact your division assistant at the San Luis Obispo Campus to see if it is in your mailbox there. If there appears to be a problem with you not receiving a ballot, please do not hesitate to contact me. Attached are the official draft re-writes of the Constitution and Bylaws: Please deliver your ballot to either the ballot box in the SLO campus Public Safety Office (Building 6600) or the ballot box in the North County Campus Public Safety Office (Room N1035). Ballots are due at either site by 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2009. We suggest you hand-deliver your ballot to the Public Safety Office rather than send it through inter-campus mail. Both ballot boxes will be collected at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2009 and taken to my office (Room 3337, High Tech Center/Classroom Building) for counting the ballots. Ballots will not be accepted after 3:00 p.m. on that date. Ballot counting will begin at approximately 4:00 p.m. in my office and will take approximately one hour. We are soliciting volunteers to help slice the envelopes and count the ballots from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2009 in my office. Observers are welcome, as well. If you can be there to work the entire hour and/or witness this historic occasion, please contact me via email or by phone at extension 2223. Please remember to not handle any ballot that is not yours. While it might seem helpful to take a ballot from a colleague's mailbox and deliver it to them elsewhere, this practice could be considered a violation of our electoral procedures. If you have any questions, concerns, suggestions, problems, etc., please do not hesitate to contact me. Happy voting. Mark Mark Tomes |
