CCFT Elections Committee
April 10, 2009

Dear CCFT Members,

Given the recent passage of our new Constitution and Bylaws a unique opportunity has become available for you to step forward and support your UNION.

We need three members (not on the Executive Board or Council of Representatives) to volunteer to become our new CCFT Elections Committee. This is an ongoing union subcommittee that will oversee the general election of various positions that will sit on the CCFT Executive Board, as per our newly passed Constitution and By-laws (see attached duties of the Elections Committee, Article IX of our new Constitution).

Please nominate yourself or another CCFT member who is not on the Council of Reps or the Executive Board and who has agreed to be nominated to become a member of this Elections Committee.

The immediate needs of this committee are to:

1. Elect a chair of the committee
2. Call for nominations for:
            a. Chair of the Communications Committee
            b. Chair of COPE
            c. Chair of the Financial Review Committee
            d. Chair of the Part-time Faculty Committee
3. Conduct an election (provided there is more than one nomination for any of the above positions)
4. Complete this election by the end of the semester

The Elections Committee will have the full support, assistance, experience, and resources of CCFT, including full assistance from the CCFT Secretary-Treasurer with nominations and election processes.

Please send your nomination(s) to either Ron Ruppert or Kevin Botenbal by April 28, 2009.

Part-Time Faculty Interviews
March 2009

Dear Colleagues,

The attached article is the uncut version written for the Cuestonian published March 2009. It contains interviews from our CCFT president, College President and Cuesta Part-time faculty members. The author, Barbara Rosenblatt, has given us a copy of her findings to publish and share with all faculty members. We hope you enjoy the article.

As part-time faculty chair I would like to personally thank Barbara for taking the time to investigate the life of the part-time instructor.

CCFT Benefits Survey

Hi Folks-
CCFT is working on gathering feedback on Medical / Health Benefits. Please complete the survey linked below before May 20:

Also, after waiting for input from the Council of Representatives, the Calendar Committee and District have agreed to keep the summer 2010 schedule as is. This means there is no change to the start date to summer 2010.  Summer 2010 will begin Monday, June 14. Thank you to those who took the time to provide their rep with feedback on this issue.
